2022 Theme
Theme: Fed up with being resilient. (New Orleans may not be the city for you)
Title: “Ain’t easy being resilient”
Imagery: Riff on Sesame Street, now “Spank-a-me Street”, brought to you by the letters F and U.
Float: Fed up Kermit the Frog flipping the bird hopefully 3D in paper mache. Backdrop is a NOLAfied version of the stoop and green doors from Sesame Street, with the street sign, etc. Surrounding this is signs or vignettes of all the additional crap, above and beyond the usual, that’s been heaped on us over the last two years. Possible inclusions:
- Street construction (and lack thereof)
- Pandemic
- Trash
- Cones of uncertainty
- Hurricanes
- Blue roofs
- Broken traffic lights
- No Jazz Fest/festivals/Mardi Gras
- Closures (temporary and permanent)
Lower part of the float will be covered in blue faux fur. Lighted Spank-a-me Street signs on the sides.
